IMTA represents more that 65 importers and exporters of beef, sheepmeat, pork and poutlrymeat, as well as more than 25 associate members from the insurance, freight forwarding, shipping and cold storage sectors.

A wide range of employment opportunities are available in this dynamic sector and to function at their best our members require staff with a broad spectrum of skills.

Some of the roles member companies may be hiring for include traders, logistics staff, technical staff and accounting and business administration staff.

Each company will have its own hiring criteria and with many employing school leavers further education may not always be an essential requirement.

Meat Business Women is the professional networking group for women working in the meat industry. Its objectives are to:

  • Develop the image, culture and landscape of the meat industry to make it more attractive to female talent 
  • Nurture new female entrants into the sector through networking, education and mentoring
